Micoud Secondary School PTCA Launch
The Micoud Secondary School is calling on residents to support the recently launched Parent Teacher Community Association.
This was in fulfilment of a mandate by the Education Quality Improvement Project of the Ministry of Education.
A theme of unity was evident early in the launch ceremony of the Micoud Secondary School Parent Teacher Community Association.
Flora Emmanuel-Joseph – Principal Micoud Secondary School said after months of community outreach and mobilization the Micoud Secondary School was finally ready to launch its Parent Teacher Community Association and the school principal was anxious for this moment.
The Micoud Secondary School capitalized on the long history of volunteerism and the track record of the previous Parent Teacher Association.
And finally, it was time to introduce the executive members of the newly formed Parent Teacher Community Association for the Micoud Secondary School.
The President is Lovelie Daniel with Austina Fanus as Assistant President.
The students are also represented on the PTCA. Private sector organisations working within the community also committed support for the new PTCA for Micoud Secondary.
The Education Officer and the EQuIP representatives were pleased with the commitments of the newly establish PTCA and hoped for more schools to follow suit.
EQuIP has launched similar PTCAs for the Soufriere Primary School, the Piaye Secondary School, and the Lady Gordon Opportunity Centre. EQuIP is funded by the Caribbean Development Bank.
